*VERY IMPORTANT* Entry to Haena State Park is limited and advanced reservations for all vehicles, walk-in entries, and shuttle riders are required. You can make reservations up to 30 days in advance at www.gohaena.com. PLEASE NOTE: you will NOT be able to drive past Hanelei without an advance reservation. Parking and shuttle reservations are also required and available on the same site.
Even without a reservation, there is still a lot to see on this tour!

I thought the information was good, the stories interesting but I found that if we veered off the path of the guide, it was difficult getting back to the exact spot on the guide. Using mile markers would be helpful. We were in Poipu Kauai.

This was a really well thought-out tour that followed our driving location with no need to skip from track to track. We learned so much not only about the landscape but about cultural experience and legends in the area. Our family dedicated a day to decorate Waimea and the Na Pali Coast and followed the Shaka Guide throughout the journey. The GPS system was incredibly helpful and the audio guide gave us an immense amount of knowledge of the surrounding area’s history. The stops along the way were definitely worthwhile (including The Lodge for lunch and JoJo’s shaved ice for dessert). Would highly recommend to any travelers hoping to drive to this part of the island!

We loved the Shaka audio tour for our car drive to Waimea Canyon State Park. We enjoyed the narration with stories of the history of various sites and suggestions of lookouts and hiking trails.

We did the Waimea Canyon guided tour and it was fabulous!! The story telling is top notch and the guided directions are time perfectly. This really engaged my kids and they were super into it. They are 9 and 14. Even my 75 year old mother loved it! Great way to learn along the way. Mahalo!!
