There are three of these signs. One is on the approach to the entrance on Rt. 159 West, one is on the approach to the entrance on Rt. 159 East, and one is on the approach to the Fee Booth inside the entrance to Red Rock Canyon.

Entering Red Rock Canyon for the Scenic Drive is your only opportunity to enter the Visitor Center and, since the loop is one-way, you only pass the Visitor Center at the beginning of the Scenic Drive. This is the only place that has restrooms with running water and a water filling station, plus an Information Booth with trail maps, Gift Shop, and outdoor exhibits worth a walk-through, plus a chance to see live desert tortoises.

This moderate trail can be picked up from the Visitor Center, Calico I, Calico II (Calico North) or Sandstone Quarry, so it's anywhere from 2 - 6 miles round trip depending on where you start and finish. This trail offers access to some rock climbing areas and the best close-up views of the Calico Hills.

This moderate trail starts from the parking lot of Sandstone Quarry, is 2.5 miles round trip and will take you about 2 hours to complete. There may be seasonal water near the end of this trail in the form of a tinaja, or natural tank, plus a sweeping view of the Las Vegas valley.

This easy trail begins across from the Willow Spring Picnic Area near the juniper fence turnaround. It's only .15 miles round trip and will take you about a half hour to complete. The petroglyph wall is across the path next to a large juniper tree.

Park and take in the view from this spot along the Scenic Drive.

Almost everything worth seeing and doing at Red Rock Canyon is along this Scenic Drive, including the Visitor Center. This is the number one way, and best way, to experience Red Rock Canyon. Much of the year, a reservation is required for the Scenic Drive.

Enjoy rare salt grass as well as a running spring, which supports many water-dependent plants and wildlife. .5 miles round trip, it takes about 30 minutes to walk the whole loop.

This in-and-out trail leads you along the base of the colorful Calico Hills. You'll usually see rock climbers if you look up! Ash trees line where the seasonal Calico spring runs, adding greenery to the landscape. 1.5 miles round trip, about one hour to complete.

Jackson the Burro lives among the horses at Cowboy Trail Rides across from the entrance to Red Rock Canyon. Stop to see if he's out in his corral and say hi! He sure is adorable, but remember -- he is a wild animal.

This moderate trail begins from the White Rock parking lot, is 2.2 miles round-trip, and takes about 1.5 hours to complete and you'd be stepping on one of the most significant geological features in Red Rock Canyon.

Park and take in the view from the highest elevation along the Scenic Drive.

This moderate trail begins from the White Rock parking lot or the Willow Springs Picnic Area, is 4.4 miles round-trip, and would take you about 2.5 hours to complete. This is a great trail for viewing wildlife because there are year-round springs in this area.

This easy trail is a great way to explore a variety of plant life and some cultural sites. Depending on the season, there may be a waterfall based on recent rain or snowpack. Look for a pictograph and an agave roasting pit. There is some rocky, uneven terrain and a partial boardwalk trail. The round trip distance is .75 miles and would take you about 55 minutes to complete.

Park and take in the view. From the helipad in the parking lot, walk the paved path to the end of the overlook.
